Seán is particularly interested in adaptations, translations and new versions of classics as well as writing for screen.

FRANKENSTEIN – a new play, based on the classic novel
– toured in Autumn 2023 and was revived in Autumn 2024.

 

His new adaptation of Oscar Wilde's THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY had its debut in a major UK tour in Spring 2019.

His debut screenplay, UNCLE OLA, reached the quarter finals of the BlueCat Screenplay competition and his one-hour pilot FRESH BLOOD was included in Filmarket Hub’s collection of best scripts 2021. Previously, he wrote a new, verse adaptation of  Sophocles' ANTIGONE which premiered at the Trestle Arts Base (St Albans) in 2013.  

Seán is also interested in helping to develop other people's writing and has experience helping bring new plays to life. He has worked as a dramaturg at theatres including NT Studio, MAST (Southampton), Tristan Bates Theatre (now Seven Dials Playhouse) & Reading Rep. 

Spitfire Girls, for which Seán is both director and dramaturg, is published and licenced by Concord Theatricals.
